mignon grotto

Shelter in Place Gallery, 2020

A series of six “large scale” works inspired by the still-life paintings of Abraham Mignon (1940-1679). Working with miniature stretcher bars and wood paneling I wanted to create paintings which have a depth that draws the eye toward detail despite their size.

“Shelter in Place” is an exhibition space created by Eben Haines to show local art work during the pandemic in Boston while all traditional art spaces are closed. The gallery may seem vast but it is actually a beautifully made 1:12 scale model of an industrial gallery space.
