Strange States is the third installation of the Museum’s popular biennial series, New England Now, which began in 2018. This exhibition will explore how regional contemporary artists are incorporating surrealist, supernatural, fantastical, or occult themes and humor into their multimedia work. New England has long been a refuge for artists seeking liberations from the limitations of reality and discovering infinite possibilities and meanings through their work.
